A clear answer

How does the studio approach spine and joint concerns?

Great Falls Pilates offers individualized instruction informed by founder Ashley Rose’s background as a spine-specialized Physician Assistant. The conversation starts with your goals, movement history, and healthcare guidance, with attention to alignment, posture, and movement control.

01 / THE DETAILS

Begin with a conversation, not a class label.

Back or joint concerns can have many causes. A Pilates class description cannot tell you whether a particular session is appropriate for your situation. Speak with your healthcare provider about exercise and contact the studio before booking.

Tell us what you want to work toward, what currently feels difficult, and whether your care team has given you restrictions. A private session allows more time for those details than a general group class.

A clinical background, applied to instruction.

Ashley Rose earned Physician Assistant and Master of Public Health degrees at George Washington University and practiced in spine care at VSI, formerly Virginia Spine Institute. Her background includes working alongside spine specialists and rehabilitation professionals.

In the Pilates studio, that experience informs observation, cueing, and the conversation about movement. The work may explore deep trunk support, alignment, posture, balance, and coordination within the boundaries of your healthcare guidance.

Your Pilates instructor does not replace the clinician responsible for diagnosis, treatment, or post-surgical clearance.

Connect the studio with your wider care.

Let your instructor know when your healthcare guidance changes. Moving from rehabilitation into a more independent exercise routine can involve different needs over time.

Great Falls Physical Therapy is part of the studio’s connected local care community. If you need physical therapy or medical assessment, discuss that directly with an appropriate provider. Each service has a distinct role.

Can I start Pilates after surgery?

Timing and restrictions depend on your procedure and recovery. Obtain guidance from your treating clinician and speak with the studio before booking.

Should I choose a private session for a movement concern?

A private format provides more time for individual discussion and feedback. The studio can help you decide whether it is an appropriate starting point.

Is this physical therapy?

No. These sessions are Pilates instruction. Physical therapy evaluation and treatment are separate healthcare services.
